Why fair skin & beauty?

why is it that fair skin in asia is always associated with beauty? for example, a fair skinned girl with pimples would still be regarded more beautiful than a dark skinned girl with no pimples. im dark skinned and one day, i invited a chinese friend of mine to my birthday party and he said if the hostess was fairer and sexier, he wouldnt mind going.... that hurt!!!! he also admitted that he wants to have a chinese girlfriend because of the fair-skinned factor....although i have no feelings for him, his remarks really hit the spot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

unfortunately that's probably because of the way society had shaped them as most in asia the models are those of light skinned and considered to be a beauty... which sucks i know. and nothing can be done unless the majority shaped their attitude and be less idiotic.

Reply:It's one of the many unfair mysteries of life. Just try to ignore these very unpleasant biases and find a guy that likes darker skinned girls and you for yourself. I'm certain there are some out there.

Reply:it depends with the person preferences. beauty comes in all colors. it is only in asian countries (china, thailand, phils, etc) that the fairer you are the better. it is surely different in other countries. eventhough having fair skin is popular in asia, not all men like fair skinned girls, others prefer mocha color, tanned etc... all about choices.
