Skin protection at the swimming pool?

My son started swimming lessons 3 days ago at the inside swimming pool. The chlorine and long time water exposure dries out his skin head to toe, and his skin gets all dry and sand paper like.

He is 12 years old, what things should I bring to the pool and use on him to protect his skin?

Lotion and maybe a sun-screen before

and a healing lotion after.

I think their are some skin-protecting sprays out there too.

Just, lotion really helps.

a wet suit
Reply:you sun cream when he gets out of the pool
Reply:Put lotion on right after her get of the pool. I have very dry skin too.
Reply:Put vasiline on the dry places and minerial oil put on hands and rub on skin
Reply:You say his skin gets like sandpaper, he could have an allergy to chlorine. Have a talk with your doctor. In the meantime use lots of after sun lotion before and after swimming.
Reply:I suggest buying some Palmers cocoa butter skin lotion, un-scented or regular. After he is done swimming make sure he showers well and use the lotion. but if the problem doesnt cleer up after a couple of times of use make sure you go to a dermatologist or doctor to check for skin allergies as that is a common problem in children.
