Oily skin?

Normally, I should have dry skin, but lately (after using drying products from my dermatologist for acne) I have ridiculously oily skin. Like, even if I put on a pretty strong cream that should dry out my skin, I'm completely shiny an hour later. Can my skin actually be really dry and overcompensating with oil, or did it just all of a sudden decide to be really oily?
Oily skin?
Here is your Answer,

The glands that produce the oil have started to work overtime due to the fast drying of the meds or what have you. space out the meds into half and see if that normalizes for you. Also if you are scrubbing do it lightly and leave some oil so your glands dont overcompensate. Makes sense right. Good luck, Oh and dont use body scrubs more than once a week. Dan

well ur body didnt decide to go oily i have really shiny skin and i use Cocco butter
Reply:To be honest, I have no idea why your skin is oily all of a sudden... but every few weeks my skin gets like that for several days, and I use Purpose soap. It's just soap but it works well for me, and it's also extremely gentle (I get it in my eyes, it doesn't even sting). You might try that :) Also, check if the product you're using has oily skin as a side effect. If it does you might want to ask your dermatologist about changing the products.
Reply:I've had the same problem when I was on Tazorac, which was prescribed by my dermatologist. When I told her it was making my skin too oily, she switched me to Micro Retin-A. It worked VERY well. Made a huge difference, I'm not a slick-ster anymore.

You can also use mattyfying facial moisturizers or oil blotters. Don't over use powder, it will end up making you look too cakey.

Good luck!
